#Tragedy: Nollywood actor Ani Iyoho got burnt:
Ani Iyoho is a talented Nollywood actor, he started his acting career
since 2004, since then he has been doing well for himself in the
industry,but it's quite unfortunate that he was brutally burnt today
in a movie (Behind the wheels) location at Lekki, Lagos while he was
trying to act a fire scene. He was rushed to an undisclosed nearby
hospital where he is being placed under emergency care.
According, an actor on set name withheld, there was so much confusion
on set as the fire extinguishers did not work. It is known that the
multiple award winning Director Stanlee Ohikhuare can be very
eccentric so it is no surprise when we were told that he added the
fire scene to the script.
This shot should have been left out. Said another actor who pleaded
anonymity. We tried it first about three weeks ago and the fire did
not light well. The Jara crew was here and they left when the stunt
failed because the fire did not light well. That was God, warning the
over zealous and very crazy director Stanley Ohikhuare to leave the
matter. Now he has burnt Ani badly. We all pray he survives this.
Another actor on the set said they expressed concern about what the
Director was trying to do. The special effects person on the set is
also rumoured to be Ani Iyohi's lover and she was supposed to make
sure things did not get out of hand.
Ani's friends and other actors are already rallying round to raise
money to offset the medical bill so far.
Let us see how Nollywood will react to this. The musicians always
stand up for themselves. Let us see what ant's fellow actors will do.
All efforts to reach Stanlee has proved abortive and the producers of
the movie Kelechi Udegbe and Ugochukwu Azikiwe have not been
reacheable since this event. Let's watch as things unfold.
